We never wanted to release something with this many bugs but UTF-8 turned into a situation where depending on your setup it caused situations we had not expected. Because of all the issues I am putting out a new release to encapsulate all the fixes instead of continuing to put out fix after fix.
It also pointed out the fact some of you are using hosts that are WAY behind in their upgrades!!! It should be noted the this release now requires you to be using MySQL 4.1.x or greater. Sorry folks but some of you need to get your hosts to upgrade. Even MySQL.com isn't supporting < 4.1.x.
Do I expect this release to not have any more fixes? Probably not. But I expect it to be much more stable.
If you get an image on your theme that looks like a black diamond with a white question make it means you need to replace the character with a valid UTF-8 or HTML character. This can be done by you or be a themer. You should check to see if a new release of your theme is out there. These fixes are easy and for the most part painless.
If you get errors in your forum search please see:

Upgrade steps are in the download.
You can download the package from here
Also from SF
I am again sorry for another release so soon, but stuff happens! |

| I understand that the basic 2.0.6 could have bugs for some hosts, but we can not let one version after another and after only 5 days after. So now that I had almost finished work with the basic 2.0.6 much does it cost to start all over again, because in just 5 days are back two versions. I think the best solution to try versions, both of the tests done on different host instead to release versions one after the other. It 'just my opinion, but I think you Tecnocrat should open again the section betatester. |

It wasn't my intention to do so but I felt that for the sake of continuity and the community it was the best option at hand. I don't feel that I should have my hands tied by people using/translating this project. I am sorry if you can't keep up but that's not something I feel bad about.
No one said you had to start over. The easiest thing to do would be use sourceforge to tack the changes made and adjust accordingly. |

I am not saying that where ask permission to those who translate this project into other languages, perhaps if I had known I would have first worked effectively and on an ongoing basis. However'm doing the upgrade to new version on my site now, there is no better way to update their site before making out a new version in their own language. What you do is for the community, and I thank you for this but it would be nice to know things a bit first, rather than read on the forum. |
